Who We Are

We envision a world of human-to-human connection.

Stand For Kindness rose from the ashes of the 2017 North Bay Area Fires; the organization was conceived to create a centralized online platform connecting the world with the immediate emergency response and long-term recovery needs of Napa and Sonoma wildfire survivors.

Our Mission

Stand For Kindness provides a crowdsourcing platform that allows people from around the world to give ongoing financial support directly to families and individuals devastated from Northern California disasters.

What makes us different

We are committed to standing in solidarity with the survivors of California disasters by providing direct human-to-human financial support.

Our Story

Stand For Kindness was founded by Chaela Ciongoli, Jenni Karakasevic, and Lauren Karlowsky, a group of Napa and Sonoma county natives and locals with philanthropic motives. They supported the community during the North Bay fires in 2017 by helping people evacuate, offering their homes as a refuge to evacuees, and checking on the houses and animals of others that were unable. Being at the center of this catastrophe, they knew what they had to do next. Together, they devised a plan to quickly respond to community members in need post-disaster.

Our world needs opportunities like this to support each other simply because we care about humanity.
